Until January, "Odalisca" by Manolo Valdés stood
on the plaza at 72nd Street, one of 16 bronze
sculptures by the artist on Broadway from Columbus Circle to 166th Street. The sculpture's subtle
forms refer to works of Henri Matisse and Pablo
Picasso. Valdés is one of the most important and respected Spanish artists working today.
